A great day for the first day of summer. Weather was perfect for a hike into the Black Rock Forest. I had been wanting to hike in to Eagle Ledge for a couple weeks now, Today was the day. A short 5 mile, moderate hike. A few steep scrambles, but not bad. I went in from the Old Mineral Springs Road access which allows you to stay on woodland trails the entire journey, through thick mountain laural and woods. Real troll country. This is all on the back side of the Forest. Usually not many people back that far, today I saw no other humans (and no trolls). I spent 7 hours in the Forest today. Went in at 0630 hours and came out at 1330 hours. I was a little tired, but completly enriched.
